Default E-Flite moved the grommet holes

When stock CX2 bodies (EFLH1257) became available at my LHS, I bought one because my original one was worse for wear. The new skin was kind of tight. It was difficult to slip its grommets over their carbon mounting rods. After a couple of flights, I noticed that one grommet hole near the rotors had torn out. I still had the old body, so I cut off that piece and glued it to the underside of the newly torn fuselage. Once the repair was in place, I realized why the new skin was so tight - E-Flite had moved those holes forward 1/8 inch perhaps to "improve" skin durability by leaving more plastic on the outside of the hole. Unfortunately, their change had the opposite effect - It became a longer stretch to slip that grommet over its mounting rod, so the fuselage tore after just a couple of flights. If you are having a hard time mounting the cowl on your CX2, and its grommet holes by the rotors are 1/4 inch from the back edge of the plastic cowl, consider filing a slot to within 1/8 inch of the edge and reinforce that new grommet hole with plastic rather than fight to fit things together only to have your cowl tear.
