RE: 1/3 FOKKER DVIII Scratch Build
Normaly I do the same, that is run a grove block across the width on top, the plan has the struts going through holes on the side, another draw back is the first top front strut is hampered by the rounded sheeting getting in the way of the strut, which is not the scale location.. I am not impressed with this set of plans at all !!, the first build you always find the weak spots, any way with all the mistakes in the plan I am working around it so I do end up with a real nice looking airplane in spite of it.
BUSA plans though not intricate is by far much better plans to work with.
