This is a interesting subject. When I learned to fly from a veteran flyer 25 years ago, if I lhanded him the transmitter (yes no buddy box) before the engine quit he wouldn't take it. And after it went dead, there was always a couple of turns left if I was high enough. When I got back into flying this was one of the biggest changes I noticed was that everybody landed with power.
