One more point.

If the hinge is correctly made, if using CA hinges for instance, hinge failure is rare. Now after saying that, I'm sure that there will be a flurry of comments to the contrary. However, this subject has been debated many many times in the past. If the CA hinge is installed properly, it is just as reliable as any other hinge. All of my models have CA hinges. I had one fail, that was with my Goldberg Tiger 60 way back when. It failed because I installed incorrectly. After correctly re-hinging that plane, well, it never failed again.. and it still flys today.
