I have used a micro switch for glow the way you are thinking!
However, I did not put the batteries in front because I didn't need the weight up there ! It will work great ! If you wire it this way you will need to remember to bump the throttle up after you finish your flight ...otherwise... while your talking to your buddies your glow plug will stay lit
