Default RE: Suggestions for someone new to RC Planes?

I don't know what your outside conditions were, but I have a Blade CX2 and had a Super Cub (larger version of your Mini Super Cub) and both have gotten away from me before.

When flying these outside; you have to fly these on days when the wind is dead calm; especially the smaller mini cub. They just don't have the power to overcome the wind "hauling them off". That was my problem when my Super Cub got away from me. Has more power than the Mini Cub, but wind was blowing too much to fly it that day. I had to fight it for several minutes to get it back close enough to keep it out of some trees and put it down somewhere were I could get to it (grown up pasture). Wind was probably blowing around 10 to 15 mph that day when I almost lost the Super Cub. If the wind was blowing 10 mph or so when you flew; I'm sure that was the culprit. Try it again when the winds are calm and I'm sure that you will have a better outcome and will be more enjoyable. My 2 cents.
