I wondered about the same thing, never gave it a try though. When I was still building sand rails we were using an electric fuel pump made by Facet. It was discovered by some of the guys burning alcohol for fuel that the pumps weren't lasting very long? Seems the alcohol would dry out the rubber or soften it and the pumps would start loosing pressure or the nylon pump ball would spin on the shaft? Anyway, I hope you try it and let us know sometime down the road how it works out for you. I use the small hand crank pumps designed for glow for my gas pumps without any problems. Nothing in them besides a plastic impeller.
