no need to remove anything.....follow the instructions on my other thread. very easy. I got right on the second try.

small end to goes to the hatch, bigger end to the upper deck's inside.

Just remember to small end closest to the first bump/circle inside the hatch. Do that first then turn the deck upside down then just place the hatch with the attached hinged from the bottom. Line it up and glue the other end to the inside. then do the other.
