Jeff,that crossed my mind. That soldering would cut down the excess wire in that area, My futuba receiver is a bit larger than they may have planned for this vehicle,so I see removing that tray as a quick fix,which is replaceable,if I need it.

it is fun to have this as a runner, but for the Chicopee MA show, I will have it as a model for judging...
