Jim; lol

Maybe I'll suggest the idea to Micheal at USHobby! Then I'd get money for suggesting it, and we could split that [8D]
regarding the tail;
I was learning about mechanical advantage and stuff earlier this year, and it makes sense that a 12" boom would make the heli have more Mechanical advantage, but a shorter boom will let you have faster turns-as long as the motor can hold up. I settled for an 11' tail boom, since it increases MA slightly but not a lot. I'll test different boom lengths in the future probably...
anyways, flight today was quite...interesting! On one hand, I got a few good flights in. On teh other, my main motor died and I didn't get to test the superblades [:@] Here's what happened;
As most of you know, I have the eastcoasthobbies cnc head. I had to use long bolts to mount the superblades; no big deal, really. The problem came when I was spinning up the heli on my first flight of the day. It seems that the nut (the LAST nut I have that will fit the bolt I might add) flew off the bolt, causing a superblade to go whizzing through the air at mach 4. No damage, and I was able to find everything that flew off...except for the stupid nut. So, no superblades test today (sorry morayman)! I did, however, get to try out the honey bee fp blades (glad I bought those now) and the Xtreme DD tail. A review of both below. Another thing was that the heli seemed to hover while tilted sideways slightly. Not being able to identify the source, I tool apart the entire heli and re-built it-it was a good experience! When I finished the re-build, it flew much better. Now, for my main motor; there isn't much to tell, really. It just sort of reached the end of its rope, and wouldn't lift the heli fof the ground. I think I might need a stronger motor now what with all my upgrades...maybe the slo-max clone that Gary sells?
BTW Gary, are you going to re-stock those again or was that a one time thing?
Xtreme DD tail ready pack review:
I already gave a review of the out-of-the-box characteristics, so here are the flight characteristics. Pretty much, I agree with nascarfaad 100%. The Xtreme tail honds the tail very VERY well-I don't need any clicks on the trim at all to hold the heli straight! It feels much more powerful too. I was daring enough to try a piro (pirouette) today, and it went around in a nice little circle-about the same speed with the tail pushing and pulling. If I had to compare it to the GWS tail, I'd say this; They're both good upgrades from the OEM tail motor, but the Xtreme tail is more powerful for sure.
Honey bee fp blades review:
these blades are a lot more flexible and cooperative than the stock blades. A couple times, I got in...erm..."situations" that may have broken the stock blades. The honey bee blades just took it, there isn't a scratch on them. They look EXACTLY the same and are EXACTLY the same in every way EXCEPT for the MATERIAL they're made of. The MATERIAL is VERY FLEXIBLE and can TAKE a CRASH. I'm getting these suckers from now on, as they're only $1 more than the falcon blades!
