Default RE: problems with Mamba Max

ORIGINAL: Got_Demo

I feel your pain on this one. The first Max Pro I put in my Slash caught on fire within the first 30 seconds. That was only powered by a 7cell Traxxas NiMH. Castle replaced it free and now it only runs my Slash around at a max of 15mph and thats with a 9000k motor. Not a big fan of the Mamba so far.
9000 Kv motor? ROFL. That is why your motor wasn't moving much and you were having those fires and flames etc.... That motor's strictly for on-road light weight CARs for SHORT speed runs. It totally sucks when it comes to low end torque needed to move a fatty like the Slash, relatively speaking.

You need to be running something < 6000 Kv if you're gonna use a sensorless brushless motor in the Slash. I'd recommend something along the lines of a 3500 Kv Traxxas VXL motor or maybe around that speed, on 2s or 3s and that will give you plenty of punch and speed.

As for the OP, what motor are you running? What pinion/spur? Sounds like you have your Slash geared wrong, or the motor is just too hot and fast for it. We need more info before anything can be suggested.
