I originally took mine off as they caused a bad pitch down on landing. I have since increased my flaps to as much as possible and put the gear doors back on. It's fine now and lands great. If you don't get enough flap the plane will float badly and never land
The thick wing is very effective and keeps the plane in the air at very low speeds. The flaps just make this worse unless they are extended past 60 degrees and act more like speed brakes on the plane. Works great now.
