Default RE: CA Models VISA

Mike we are about ready to do some serious flying. In the last 3 months we have completely change just about everything. The wings were the last thing and now I think we have a pretty good handle on them. I attached a photo of the new sheeting being held up to a light. Before it was ok but in spots you could still see some light through the joints and I did not like that at all- Reason being is that the epoxy would seep through when we sheeted the wings and then of course we would have to sand the sheeting. In the last |0 days we have sheeted 12-14 wings and they have all come out perfect. (No Sanding)

I have been practicing a couple times a week but I think Marcelo has only flown a couple times since I have been back. Our first contest is next weekend and I am going to make him go fly this coming week. With the new fuse constuction, the new wing construction, the new finishing techniques, the new landing gear, and last but not least te new (ROUND) wing and stab tubes I am hoping we can slow down a little.

On the other hand we have just finished the Envision and that is going to be that last new model (F3A) for us this year. However in a weak moment we decided I needed a completely new 43% bi-plane if I was going to get serious about Clover Creek and the shootout in the future. I had been wanting to do something different then an Ultimate as it has been done to death and there is only one other full scale plane I know of that is equal to the Ultimate or better. Its called Advantage so that has been our side project. We are building it just like an F3A model from the ground up. Its a Weaks Solution Fuse on Ultimate wings and its absolutely a gorgeous bi-plane.

Enough for now I am starving
