Default RE: BYRON A-4 PRISTINE

RAPPTOR,

You do nice work. Do you have special machinery to make those precise cuts?

I have always wanted to add flaps to my Byron A-4 because there is about a 5mph "window of success" when landing without them. My pilot, Lynn Bowerman, did a great job at the 2009 NEAT Fair and made the SKS event video.

I am curious about your speed brakes and would like to see how they operate instead of adding flaps so keep us posted.

If you use intake ducts, you will need to plan on proper air cooling for the ESC and battery. My air scoop into the E-Turbax was crude but still allowed the A-4 to go about 135mph. The air holes from the nose gear and intake openings kept the batteries and ESC cool. I am not certain how much speed I would gain by using air intake ducting because the wing thickness of the Byron A-4 was designed for landing without flaps.

Regards.
