Default RE: Cutting Spinners

ORIGINAL: F4u5

I use a carbide tipped cutter for the dremmel instead of the drum sander. It works slick and does not dull. I've done at least 5 spinners with it so far.

Jeff
Does the carbide tip work on Yellow spinners?

I ask because the Yellow spinner is far heavier (8.7 ozs to 3.7 for a Vortec 5" P-51 spinner)) and thicker (twice) than the usual aluminum spinner.
I have seen recommendations to use an air angle die grinder to cut the spinner openings.
So far my Dremel has barely dented the Yellow Zero spinner.

What do you guys use on a Yellow Aircraft spinner?
