Not the same motor. You said yours has a rear mounted carb, mine is side mount. As for the flywheel, that's the way mine was manufactured. They can't be flipped around because they sit on a tapered shaft. However, I DID grind away all the fins for maximum weight savings, and then re-balanced it.

I agree, it sounds like yours is a Ryobi design.
