I'm building one of those too, although I'm far from that stage hehe. I'm building a very old purple box one I got on Ebay, and looking at the plans they don't mention it. I also have a newer set of plans with retract info my older one's don't have, yet they don't mention control setup either.

I would suggest contacting www.hobbybarn.com. They sell them still-Marutaka Kits. They may be able to help you. By the way, if you need a cockpit kit, they may still have some or maybe can get you one. I purchased one from them last summer, good price and great service.
