RE: BVM T-33 Build
Well I started on the tail section, and the process is very much the same as I did on the wing when it comes to glassing. As Bob describes in the instructions, the string method of keeping the live hinge free of epoxy works like a charm. I also like putting a patch of balsa on the opposite side to keep the controls rigid. It’s very easy to remove after you have finished glassing, and makes the task easier.
One of my biggest complaints with BVM since the beginning of this build was that they could use some work on customer communication. I have addressed this issue with Bob, but some things just never seem to change. It has been a few weeks now since I both emailed and had a conversation with them about the missing parts, and the inlet fence diverter, but I still do not get any update on whether the parts are being made, sent, or what the status is. It takes very little effort to send an email, and it shows the customer that you have not been forgotten.
I should have the 2 coats of resin completed soon on the tail surfaces as things on the here seem to be going well.
