When removing the gears from the diff. housing I did not notice the thin round washer looking shims. The oil was dirty looking and thick. I noticed the shims after I had the fluid changed and the unit assembled and installed on the car. I seen the thin washers stuck to a paper towel. Now my question is, where do the shims go? My guess is that there are (4) shims to the diff. case. One going on each end of the gear androd assy. likethe pic below.
