Default RE: Servos efficiency.

We're not sure what you are trying to do. The default setup works nicely. Some modelers believe that it's best to set up servos with the maximum amount of travel the transmitter allows and then adjust the position of the linkage on the servo horn and control horn to get the desired hi-rate travel. Then, you adjust the dual rates to lower the travel.

We don't think you're asking about "efficiency", since you cannot change how efficient a servo uses the battery's energy by changing the throw. We think you're asking about resolution. Well, resolution is the same throughout the system. If the transmitter has 2048 steps for full end-to-end travel of the channel, you have a certain number of steps for each degree of servo travel. That won't change, regardless of how you set of the AFR, ATV, or rates.

Basically, just leave the transmitter at its default settings and set up the maximum amount of control surface travel by adjusting how the pushrods link to the servo and control horn. Then, adjust the conditions or rates to reduce the travel as needed.
