Default Need Help with warped wings.....

John,
I recently bought a NIB BVM F-16 that had been sitting around awhile. When I opened the box, I found my wings were warped at the TE........all along what was to be the aileron. SImply wouldn't do.

Fixed that problem:

First, I sprayed a little ammonia on the wing in the affected area, then, I taped a 1/2"x3/4"x14' STRAIGHT piece of balsa along the TE of the wing....top and bottom (like a sandwitch). I more or less 'forced' the ailerons to conform to the balsa stock, and used quite a bit of tape to ensure they stayed where I wanted them to. Let it sit like that for a few days, and VIOLA!!! My ailerons are now straight as an arrow once again.
Since the kit is stored until I finish my Y/A F-16....I have kept the balsa stock taped to the wing. I have heard some folks use the ammonia, but iron the wood with a monocoat iron. Never tried it that way, but it may work as well.

If I haven't explained this well enough (long day), I'll try to post some pics later tonight.

Good luck!
Jeff
