Don't know how this guy does it with 1;35 scale. All that scale I have seen with RC has been extremely flimsy. Unless you are going to get some scale tracks etc and totally rebuild the tank a lot more stable, ...[:-] Even some of the 1;25 scale isn't really all that great if you really want to move it,either by wire of RC.
Only way to learn scratch building is to try it. Plenty of help on this site to give you tips, suggestions, warn you of no-nos, good, sound advice, etc. Get an old clunker or one you really don't like and start removing, adding and altering stuff....you would surprise yourself what you can do. Just need a Dremmel tool, Xacto knives, tweezers, CA cement and sheet styrene. Hey, if it doesn't come out like you wanted....a lesson learned and try again. Just changing stuff on most HL tanks to make them more accurate is a good start. Give it a try.
