Default RE: Static Model To RC

Nice site for German tanks, but the M-48 used T-97E2 tracks, dbl pin rubber chevron, 28 inch. With that width, the Pershing 1;16 would be very close, but not accurate. The extra width over the earlier 23 inch track was 5 inches on the outside, so accuracy would be compromised.

Deadmanwakin; good luck with your A3. I have served on M-48, 48A1, A2 and T-97 flame version. I hated them all.[:'(] After running around in very nimble M-46 and 47s, the M-48 was a fat, wallowing pig that lacked maneuverabilty, was overweight and clumbsy.
The M-46/47 weighed 48.6 tons. The M-48 started with 52 tons, same engine/tranny and tracks 5 inches wider which made the engine work harder to maneuver. The rangefinder was like the M-47...very poor steroscopic and fairly accurate only under 1000 yards (with a gunner who had good 3D vision[:-])..., for which ranges you really didn't need it. The only advantage was the mechanical cam operated ammo "computer" for the gunner which relayed proper superelevation directly to the gun. I am looking for one simply as a need for a later model for my Isreal armor.

Neat idea for mobilize 1;35 scale....good luck.
