We have experienced absolutely no issues with heat and the component board ppositioned and secured just above the turbine. With the 4 (soon to be 5) Cougars flying, three with Jet Central and one with Jet Cat, no issues reported.
As for the bypass, I recommend everyone leave the cover off. Turbine runs cooler, cools down quicker and as well, the pipe remains much cooler. It is the additional air available which allows for this.
