RE: Neon Orange Monokote help
Ken is right about it turning darker when heated. It returns back to color when it cools. The color issue with the Neon colors though are that they fade quickly in the the sun. A week or so of flying will cause them to start to wash out in color. Peel back a lap of covering to show a bit of the color under the surface and see what I mean. Ilost a plane in the creek behind our field a few years back. The fuselage was covered in the Neon Pink. Four months in the shade, not direct sun. When it was found, the color was a pale pink, really a pinkish white. I pealed back a seam and the orginal vibrant color was under the exposed covering.
If you use the colors, and I like them, then take a big white towel to put over the plane on flight line. Uncover it to fly and cover it as soon as you get back to the bench, It's really going to fade out if you don't.
