I'm with Hyperdyne on this one. I do not know the math behind the workings but I do know from empirical data that every time I have placed a gyro towards the nose of the aircraft they dont work well at all-when I have moved the gyro to the center of yaw (which is close to the CG) they magically work wonderfully.
