The IBEC that I got with my SAP-180 regulates the ignition voltage to 5.8v. I tried it with a fully charged 6v (7.8v after full charge) Nicad and a 6.6v (7.4v after full charge) LiFe and the output was the same, 5.8v into the ignition.
