HI there FalconWings, this is Marvin here from Mako's R/C Jet Club and Mitchell-Air Aero-Scale in Miami, just to clarified and i will try to make this short;
Mako's R/C Jet Club started back in 1992'sh , a Mako's Captain(which by now i dont remember his name im sorry) allowed us to fly inside Homestead Airforce Base, where the Coast Guard parks now their aircraft, same spot where they Taxi out to the runway, it's where we use to fly, then got move else where but we had a bad spot so Captain had no choice and we had to move out. Luis Ontiveros (Lucho) bought this land where we fly now, and i 3-1/2 years ago took charge of the club.
When my dad and I aquired the F-16C that you see in the pic, i didnt wanted to keep it in Denmark Markings, nice skeme but not my taste, i started to look for a tail marking for the 93rd FS but no luck, i wanted to make it come out and be shown for the the Mako's Squadron and made a tribute to them, this is what happened, when i typed in google "makos nose artwork" clicked on images and found their own nose artwork, thats where the idea came through , my dedication to the Mako's, a tribute and their help for us the modelers.
The Tail "FM, 482nd FW, Homestead ARB, Fla. (AFRES),, F-16A/B" AF/08 i still trying to find out whats AF stands for , now "08" its the year the Aircraft was deliver, which was 2008, and i have about 120 flights onthis beauty.
Yes it has Wing leading edge flaps (not to be confused with Slats), flaps, and speed brakes, yes i have use them, it works amazing, and looks real, i hate the fact i didnt used them for this shot, leading edge flaps an flaps, that would have turne out awesome.
So thats the story FalconWings, i couldnt remove the E-195 cause the Chinese paint wasnt removing out neatly so we left it like that, untill further desired paint(but i feel if it aint broken dont fix it, relatively its a nice skeme for now
)
Boli thankyou and yes as you have said it my DAD Miguel Alvarez has done a magnificent job in all details, starting from fixing the Speed Brakes, to the wing leading edge flaps, the cockpit closing -N- opening, the antennas, static wicks, to the hand made gun, light ports, lights, antennas, pitot tube, exhaust nozzle, the side winders, head turns, some night instrumnet lights, even to the remove before flight all made by him, im proud of my father's scale detail work,(and awesome flier as well) so there you go FalconWings that's the "what's up with this one............"
p.s. Ohh yes please if anyone can help me my name isnt Nigel Alvarez (last name yes) our name is Miguel=Dad Marvin-Son just to make sure that FLorida Jets understands that as the magazine R/C Sport Flyer wasnt advised by Fl jets personel to fix the name, as in the Banquet Awards Mr Frank with all respects new was to be fixed, thank you .
