Well, just an update on the engine situation. It turns out the total weight of the Aviatik has reached approx. 27lbs. and at this weight the 40cc, 4-stroke, B&S just isn't going to get it done so, Ron Prestin has loaned me a brand spanking new G62. Two pounds of lead was required for balance. There will be no question about power and we will get a better idea of how the model flies. I am in the process of doing a 65cc, Stihl, 4-stroke gas/glow conversion and if that works out I will probably take the G62 out and use the Stihl. Just can't beat the sound of those four strokes! Plane Pounder has made me an adapter that will enable me to get the glow plug deep into the head of the Stihl. I will do a short thread on the conversion once I get it running. Stay tuned.
