Well Doc, I can only speak from my experience with the B&S, 40cc, four stroke on gas/glow. I ran this engine for hours and did not see any extreme use of fuel. It depends on what you do with carburetion and many other factors. I would have used the same size fuel tank and carried the same weight anyway. The price of fuel/nitro is not an issue for me either. If you flew every day maybe it would be but for the number of times a model is actually flown I don't think the cost is unreasonable. Maintaining battery packs is more of a nuisance to me than mixing some fuel. It would also be a long time before I spent the approx. $175. it would cost for the EI and batteries. So far, I have not had to do anything more than mix pump gas with nitro. No other additives. It seems to me that many other people are very happy using gas/glow also. It's all just a personal choice.
