JDE's poor workmanship
Guys,
Check out Jason's earlier posts and you'll find out who he's talking about. Jason is right not to mention openly who the manufacturer is, he doesn't want to start another flame war. I myself had a similar experience with a KJ66 derivative from a not so well known manufacturer. The turbine wheel was bored off center and every five or six runs I had to ship it back to them to replace bearings and re-balance the engine. Also the wheel was safe rated at 120Krpm and the max thrust output of the engine came at 135Krpm, so you can imagine what could have happened if I was unlucky enough to run the engine for more than those five or six runs. They serviced it twice in a season without noticing their mistake!!! The shipping, as well as the servicing, plus the foreign exchange difference cost me the price of a new engine. We all have to agree to one thing, us modellers pay for the manufacturers mistakes, R&D, faulty parts etc. A lot of people will sell us a product in it's design stage, then will come up with a million excuses for not supplying what you have bought nine months earlier on time. Then they will ship you something that is not perfect and will sell you, what they call, upgrades to it, just because it wasn't totally finished before they shipped it to you.
I hope that neither this post is going to start world war three, I just brought up a few thoughts, based on experience.
