RE: Official F27 Stryker Part 8: Beginners to Custom Darkness
The1User,
I cannot give you any specifics on flight time....so here is how it has to work:
I suggest you start with APC pylon 6.5X3.7 and report back if you are happy with flight times and speed.
With a full battery pack discharged 5% capacity(250 mAH) it should draw about 80-85A on ground, and it will unload good amount of AMPs in flight as speed goes higher. The 6.5" diameter will help you during the launch.
If you are getting more than enough flight time and would like to give up some of that flight time in favor of additional performance....let me know and we can figure out the next prop for you.
Remember the throttle is not always on full throttle or even part throttle for that matter....Strykers glide well.......go up high and just glide.
I think you may be happy with flight times....even if you decide that you want a weaker prop to lower the amps some more, at least you would have already had a few flights and would have adjusted your elevons, C.G. and motor mount angle perfectly and get the hang of launching....weaker props will be increasingly harder to launch.
You have a starting point...have at it.
If you want to order several different props to save on shipping and wait times let me know.
p.s. APC Sport 6X4 will have similar draw on ground and will have a little higher top speed, but less thrust while trying to launch and less climbing ability.
