I balanced mine a inch behind the wing tube, still plenty docile .
I think yours will be fine, the advice of getting help at the field if you are unsure is very good advice indeed. If you have low rates set them to 1/2 of reccomended on the low and low rates on high.
if you are not use to a aerobatic plane it will feel real touchy at first.
