Nothing wrong with that. We all started there. I flew my first contests with a Fun Fly .40 and an Ace Silver 7 Single Stick TX. Just come out and have fun, but I would definitely start in sportsman. With the new box rules, the sequence is a lot tougher than it looks. If you do really well at that one in Sportsman, then move up, but if you start in Intermediate, you can't go back. D6 usually has a pretty good crop of Sportsman guys, so the competition will be there.
