I am currently training a new pilot on a mini Nexstar EP. It's a nice flying plane. However, with no experience and no instructor... you will crash it. The Nexstar is capable of loops and rolls in it's stock form. Now, with that said the Nexstar is about $175. You can get club membership and AMA membership for about $108 most of the time. At the club, you can get free instruction that , should your Nexstar crash during instruction Hobbico will replace it for free!!!. You have made the initial investment. Finish the race and do it right
