No it's not a big deal at all.

As a matter of fact metal gears tend to wear more quickly than nylon gears.

The 5010's produce about 130oz/in of torque @ 6v or so. It takes a good amount of force over this to cause the gear to strip.

So far I haven't stripped a single servo with well over a hundred purchased.
