ABS tires are good and have been used for a long time because it's cheap, and if you live in a state that allows ABS usage in local plumbing you can get it at the large home centers. ABS comes in two forms solid core and foam core, foam core pipe is best it has a much better slip/grip ratio. Solid core is very dense and much harder, sounds like the old school metal skates on concrete. ABS wears down super fast especially on concrete and asphalt and as they grind down they leave a coat of dust on your chassis eventually working its way into your motor, so maintenance is a must. White and grey PVC are solid core as well and even harder, these are way to slippery, for fooling around you can use them, but for serious "controlled" drifting (getting the car to react exactly the way you want) and for competing Raikou Drift Tires has a very durable tire with great slip/grip ratio, their Driftex DXPE.

They use petroleum based polyethylene to make their Driftex DXPE tire, for $16.99 you get 12 tires, these last super long, you can wear them down right to the wheel as they are solid all the way through and they are easy to mount. They have medium soft compound and sound and feel so smooth during a drift. This type of material is used in other name brand Type "T" and "tech" drift tires. They feel and handle the same if not better and best of all they are affordable.
