Patti, firstly I must say "thank you for allowing me to be your first guinea pig" and secondly sorry for not getting back to you earlier with the question you asked me about the uniforms. (Bloody shutdowns at work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I do believe if you can think of a uniform combination then it was probably worn through the BoB. The regs were actually quite relaxed during this time for one reason or another (moral maybe??)

I think Richard's uniform would be very close to what would have been worn when it was quite cold during the BoB. As you can see from the above links the uniforms were varied. And there would be more.
