1) Yes. You trim it to land hands free. For that you adjust CG location and elevator trim. Google this video: Easystar Multiplex.wmv

2) Yes, but not needed if you use an ESC.

3) Yes, that is the idea: to have enough juice to operate the controls for a dead stick landing.
