Well I took things apart and reassembled in just a little over an hour. I also fixed a few things along the way, but overall, it was not as big a job as I would have thought. I now have the preload spring back as expected, and look forward to the run-up. It will have to be another day, as I do not want to scare the neighbours near dinner time. As for the torque on the spinner nut, I have worked on many small engines, and I have a good sense for what is right.</p>
