looking for some insight regarding this manufacturer. I am building a PT-19 from Hostetler plans and am ready to order the motor.
Hostetler used a Quadra 50 in his original design back in 1988.
I have been all over the internet researching and have found out that the 50 has been replaced with a new and improved 52.
Also while doing my research it appears that Quadra (the Company) has struggled to keep their doors open over the last handful of years.
Apparently there is a group in Canada that has restructured and is offering Quadra engines but i do not see the 52 in their lineup. I have also found a guy by the name of BennetBuilt which is supposedly the U.S. distributor of Quadra engines and DOES offer the 52.
Can anyone give me the history of what is going on and from whom can i trust and buy an engine for my plane?
