Default RE: SSE Repair Help

I think I will try the repair; although I did not realize the wing kit existed.

The full kit $109 plus 2 rolls of covering is $150. Even the wing kit and covering is $70. I will try to repair.

I decided not to cut out the spars and stair-step the repair. I will pull them open, add thin CA, and push back together. Then add some ply to the sides for strength. In thinking about it, the main force is on the wing tube; not the spars. The TE is clean break so easy to fix. The LE is tricky because it is a long break along the length and is right at a former making reinforcement harder. There is no shear web between F1 and F2 so I might try to add something to help the spars (although the wing tube might be in the way).

Worth a try; as long as it breaks in flight in a way that I do not lose the engine or TX/servos, it is worth the try. This left wing has 3/4 oz of lead at the tip added for balance; I may need surgury to remove that to balance. The problem I have is that I have very little covering left from the build; I might have to use other colors and highlight the pilot error as a reminder.
