I also have Tam's F-16 and use stock arms for gear, brake, gear doors and nose steering. On the elevons I use aluminum arms on 2 - DS8411 and in the tail I have an HD arm. Go at least HD if not aluminum. They cost $18 for 2 including shipping...well worth the investment IMO.
