I own a Spektrum DX6i Tx. It is capable of the following airplane programming functions: Flaps, P-mixes, Dual aileron, V-tail, Delta, Differential. I got this radio because I thought I'd give powered flight a try (non gliders). I didn't like it. Now, I plan on getting back into gliders...something simple like a Radian. Perhaps later, I will get an intermediate full house sailplane, such as a Topaz-E or AVA-E for thermalling. Will my DX6i be up to the task, or will Ineed a better radio such as the Airtronics SD-10G or the RDS8000 FHSS 2.4?

I answered this in the thread on RC Groups.
1) DX6i is fine for the radian
2) Topaz and AVAare not full house gliders, they are RESgliders. As such your DX6i will do just fine with them too.
3) You can fly a full house, R/E/A/F with your DX6i, but you will not be able to do everyting you would like to do.
The Airtronics is a good choice but it won't work with your Spektrum receivers. However the JRX9303 will, and it is a great sailplane radio.
