Default RE: Neu 1110 VS Velineon 380 Motor

Eric hi

heres the objective guff
1. the lamination material is inert
2. the laminations are very thin better still as reacts less with changes in fields in coils
3. the rotors are very well made and cf wrapped and balanced
4. Very low iron losses (idle amps) and low resistance. As iron losses are about half the chinese motors they are much more efficint especially at low amps where cars run. It also means they can be overvolted and still run hard and cool rather than run very hot.
5. On the dyno the 1100s have a torque output/amp better than most 540 motors of the same kv.
6. Neu specs are always very close to reality eg efficincy on 1100's is 83-86% depending on setup - while the chinese clain 85-90% they rarely get above low 70% meaninf they have about twice the waste heat.
7. The Neus are typically 30% lighter
8. Comparative dyno testing (quiet Flier back issues) shows them to be an exceptionally efficient and powerful motor across each motor range
9. The upshot is motors which when used in their proper efficiency range have exceptional torque efficiency power and power to weight figures

When you choose a NEU motor choose smaller/lighter than you would with Tekin etc. The Neu 1105 and 1107 are designed for the amp ranges you want - an 1105/2Y can pull 42 amps on 2S. The larger motors are for much higher power levels and will be operating outside their best efficiency and will weigh a lot more and add to cost.
