This sounds like a typical crisis of the brushes being worn. You will need to replace the brushes but I would just move up to a better motor than the stock motor... unless you plan on going brushless. One motor I would go with If I were you would be a reedy 15 T, it offers exceptional power and has a relatively longer life than a stock motor. That motor has almost the same specifications as the yokomo 15 T d1mn motor I used to run for a long time back then. For HPI Drift Meisters im not that familiar with them so I can't offer much feedback.. my apologizes. Now brush life matters on the power of the motor and the materials the brushes are made out of. Some brushes are made out of different material so they last longer but cost a little bit more. I love brushed motors for the massive torque they produce for drifting but remember they need to be well maintained. If you don't want to fiddle with maintenance then go with a brushless system, take all of this information into careful consideration before you make your choice. Best of wishes
