Default best advice

The best advice I ever received from an instructor was after I had torn off a large portion of the bottom of my trainer after the landing gear had a rather heated argument with some tall weeds outside the runway. The weeds won. He told me to replace the bolts attaching the landing gear with nylon bolts. To this day I have replaced about 3 sets of nylon bolts with an approx. cost of .16 and not had to fix the plane once.
Just the other day I was flying on the salt flats(beach) and as I was landing I hit a small piece of driftwood and popped off the main gear but I was able to land perfectly, again a new set of nylon bolts... .16.
sometimes the easiest advice is the best.
