RE: ZIROLI P-61 BLACK WIDOW BUILD
Assembly (cont)
Booms (cont)
I secured the left boom to the center wing and transmitter tested all electrical and manual test of all air hoses and labeled all air hoses for up/down, close/open, etc. Hopefully, my UP-3 valve will come in this week (wonder if it's possible to use a UP-2 valve as a UP-3 since I have two of those!).
As with the right side of the center wing, a new hole was drilled in the right side and five air lines and five sets of wires were routed through the hole.
The ashlok connectors were done on the left boom and transmitter testing was done on the right boom. Right rudder and right elevator servo to right receiver. The nose wheel required a servo reverser to work properly with the right rudder. Right throttle connection made with the left throttle on Aux 3 and slaved to the right throttle.
Both chokes routed to the left receiver aux 2.
Eight hours (counting lunch) to do these few items!
pic 1:
Made some rudder servo covers from old P-51 covers.
pic 2:
The inner flaps needed adjusting and it was easiest just to remove the hinges from the pocket hinges and rotate the whole flap.
pic 3:
Some stringer wood CA'ed to the inside of the flap cover to remove the warp in the wood.
pic 4:
I pulled all five wires at once through the right side of the center wing for the right boom.
pic 5:
Ashlok connector done for elevator, rudder, throttle and carb for the right boom.

Right boom electrical tested via the transmitter.
(still have to do the air checks).
pic 7:
RATS NEST (scale wise, there must be the same amount of wire as in the full size!).
Glad all that is going through two receivers!
One reverser Y needed for the nose.

Left boom secured to the center wing and all testing completed.
