I have looked at profiles but right now I want to stay witha built up plane.I am gathering a 10.5 or say 11 pound airframe with low wing loading is ideal but this isnt a perfect hobby either..I just think 13 pounds will mean that it wont have unlimited vertical for the big wow manuvers and likely will struggle to go straight up out of a hover.I am spoiled with my 3dhobby planes but the 30cc market really has me wanting to do gas again..
As mentioned earlier, I have a Syssa in a 14.25 lb Giant Sportster. It has no trouble with unlimited vertical or big wow maneuvers. Pulling up out of a hover might be another matter? Motor still breaking in (4th tank), haven't spent any time there, but not looking for much there honestly. At that kind of weight, it's definetly on the fat side for that kind of thing. Sport flying though, there's more than enough there for about anything you'd want? I think something in the 12 to 13lb range might be a good compromise between the Funtana and the Sportster?
You mentioned "marginal" 3D performance with the DLE/Seagull Extra earlier. Maybe in this case "marginal" is just right? Don't know for sure, but that's likely where I'm headed next time out. FWIW
