Default Why do I need AMA

Well here we go.

I am wondering why do I need to have AMA. I figured just for the insurance and liability. I have recently just bought a home. I have homeowners insurance. I verified with my homeowners insurance that I am covered up to $300,000 in liablitiy in case of an accident with a person, house, or auto minus the deductable. I have the option of raising that number to $1,000,000 coverage. If I am covered under my homeowners than why do I need the liability coverage of the ama (primary reason for having it)? The ama will only pay a claim after homeowners insurance has paid there amount.
